Honors Megan Humphrey for 25 years of leadership at HANDS (Helping and Nurturing Diverse Seniors), a Chittenden County nonprofit serving people aged 50+ facing food insecurity

HANDS expanded under her leadership from providing Christmas dinners to seniors alone on the holiday to comprehensive food and nutrition services throughout the county

During the 2024 holiday season, HANDS distributed approximately 1,700 grocery gift cards to food-insecure older adults

Programs developed include gardening initiatives at senior centers, healthy eating workshops, and partnerships with food shelves

Humphrey is stepping down from leadership but will continue as a HANDS volunteer
