House concurrent resolution honoring Brenda Churchill, former Bakersfield Select Board member and transgender rights advocate, who died January 13, 2025 at age 67

Churchill served over two decades in telecommunications and brought that expertise to the board of Northwest Fiberworx, the Communications Union District serving Franklin and Grand Isle Counties

As legislative liaison for the LGBTQIA Alliance of Vermont, she contributed to legislation on ethnic and social equity studies in schools, gender-neutral bathrooms, non-binary driver's license designations, and birth certificate authentication

Held multiple local government positions in Bakersfield including zoning official, American Rescue Plan manager, justice of the peace, and select board member; also served as a 2020 U.S. Census data collector

General Assembly extends condolences and directs the Secretary of State to send copies of the resolution to her family, Bakersfield Town Clerk, and the Vermont Commission on Women
