Commemorates the 200th anniversary of the Marquis de Lafayette's 1824–1825 Farewell American tour, which spanned 24 states from August 15, 1824 to June 29, 1825

Lafayette, a French aristocrat who became a Continental Army major general at age 19, fought at the Battles of Brandywine, Rhode Island, and Yorktown during the Revolutionary War

Lafayette visited Vermont on June 28–29, 1825, stopping in Windsor, Woodstock, Royalton, Barre, and Montpelier before concluding his tour in Burlington

In Burlington, Lafayette laid the cornerstone of the University of Vermont's Old Mill building and delivered his farewell speech to America

Directs the Secretary of State to send a copy of the resolution to the American Friends of Lafayette, which is organizing a bicentennial recreation of the tour on June 28–29, 2025
