Vermont General Assembly honors Steven D. Faccio of Strafford for his career as a conservation biologist dedicated to protecting natural environments, lands, waters, and wildlife

Faccio worked 15 years (1992–2007) at the Vermont Institute of Natural Science, focusing on peregrine falcon nesting sites, loon habitat, brown-headed cowbirds, and avian breeding and migration research

Co-founded the Vermont Center for Ecostudies in 2007, serving as senior conservation biologist and creating the Vermont Vernal Pool Atlas

Founding member of the Strafford Conservation Commission in 2002, serving as secretary for 11 years and continuously since 2015; also active member of the Vermont Endangered Species Committee's Reptile and Amphibian Scientific Advisory Group since 1994

Secretary of State directed to send a copy of the resolution to Steve Faccio and the Vermont Center for Ecostudies
