Commemorates the 50th anniversary of Bennington College's Visual and Performing Arts Center (VAPA), which was dedicated on May 22, 1976

The 120,000-square-foot facility was designed by architect Robertson Ward Jr., who studied under Bauhaus founder Walter Gropius at Harvard Graduate School of Design

VAPA includes 20 studio spaces, an annex with four artistic spaces, and features visible structural and mechanical systems along with Japanese-influenced design elements

First Lady Betty Ford participated in the 1976 dedication ceremony, having previously studied dance at Bennington College with Martha Graham

Directs the Secretary of State to send a copy of the resolution to Bennington College VAPA
