Vermont General Assembly congratulates the Grand Isle Volunteer Fire Department on 75 years of community service, established in 1951 and incorporated in 1957

Department began with a portable pump attached to a 1928 Chevrolet truck and a community member's garage serving as the fire station

Current services include fire response, community outreach, fire prevention, hazmat calls, vehicle extrication, ice rescue, and wildland fire response

Fleet includes two pumpers, a heavy rescue truck, water tanker, brush truck, and Marine 1 with trailer for Lake Champlain operations; department maintains Vermont's longest-serving ice rescue certification program

Department operates from a 7,400-square-foot multibay fire station on Hyde Road and follows the motto "Neighbors Helping Neighbors"
