Vermont General Assembly honors Starr LaTronica, who served as Brooks Memorial Library Director in Brattleboro for a decade, concluding her tenure in April 2026

LaTronica graduated from UC Berkeley in 1980 and previously worked as a children's librarian in Berkeley and as youth services/outreach manager at the Four County Library System in Binghamton, New York

Under her leadership, the library expanded its collection to include diverse items such as museum passes and snowshoes, modernized with digital resources and internet access for all patrons, and hosted speakers and public programs

LaTronica secured a federal grant for capital improvements and gained national recognition for her work in children's librarianship and service on book award panels

Secretary of State directed to send a copy of the resolution to Starr LaTronica and the Brooks Memorial Library
