Expands Group G membership in the State Employees' Retirement System to include additional employee categories effective July 1, 2026: classified employees of the Department for Children and Families, fire academy site coordinators, assistant State fire marshals, force protection officers with the Military Department, and law enforcement certification and training coordinators within the Vermont Police Academy

Existing System members as of June 30, 2026 in these newly eligible positions may make an irrevocable election to join Group G on or before June 30, 2027

Creates a new transfer provision allowing Group F members who take positions subjecting them to Group G membership to elect to remain in Group F within one year of accepting the new position

Removes the formula-based calculation for accidental disability retirement allowances, replacing it with a simpler provision that members receive a normal retirement allowance upon accidental disability retirement

Updates statutory language throughout to use gender-neutral terminology (replacing "his or her" with "the member's")
