Landowners enrolled in Vermont's Use Value Appraisal Program who post their land against hunting, fishing, or trapping would pay an annual surcharge of $1.00 per acre

The Current Use Advisory Board would be required to recommend this surcharge when setting values for eligible land each tax year

Revenue from the surcharge would be deposited into the Fish and Wildlife Fund established under 10 V.S.A. § 4047

Landowners must certify in writing to the Commissioner when applying if their land is posted, and notify within 30 days if they post land after enrollment

Effective date: January 1, 2027
