Students of active duty military parents required to relocate due to official military orders may remain enrolled in their current school through the end of the school year

Students in grades 9-12 whose parent's active duty status ends during the school year may remain enrolled through graduation; other students may stay through the end of the school year

Military families with pending transfers to Washington installations can enroll children before arrival, with proof of residence required within 14 days; an exception allows 14-90 days if housing is temporarily unavailable

School districts must release students who are children of military families to nonresident districts that agree to accept them, adding this as a qualifying condition for inter-district transfers

Nonresident school districts are not required to provide transportation unless mandated by other state or federal law
