Extends the deadline for employees to qualify for exemption from WA Cares Fund premium assessments by requiring long-term care insurance purchased before November 1, 2027 (previously November 1, 2021)

Reopens the exemption application period through December 31, 2028 (previously closed December 31, 2022)

Employees who receive an exemption are permanently ineligible for WA Cares Fund benefits and cannot become qualified individuals or eligible beneficiaries

Exemptions take effect the first day of the quarter following approval, with no refunds for premiums paid before the exemption effective date

Applicants must be 18 years or older, and the Employment Security Department is not required to verify that applicants actually have long-term care insurance
