Health care settings must develop, implement, and conduct comprehensive annual reviews of workplace violence prevention plans addressing security, staffing patterns, employee training, and incident response procedures

Every workplace violence incident requires timely investigation assessing incident details, response measures, and comparison of actual versus planned staffing levels at the time of the incident

Health care settings must submit deidentified incident data summaries to safety committees quarterly, or twice per year for critical access hospitals, hospitals with fewer than 25 acute care beds, sole community hospitals, and island hospitals in Skagit County public hospital districts

Safety or workplace violence committees with employee-elected members equaling or exceeding employer-selected members are responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring the violence prevention plan

Effective date is January 1, 2026, contingent on specific funding being provided in the omnibus appropriations act by June 30, 2025
