Amends RCW 9A.36.031 (third-degree assault statute) to create an exception for assaults on nurses, physicians, and health care providers when the assailant is in a behavioral health crisis situation

Exempts individuals from third-degree assault charges against health care workers if they are detained or pending evaluation under chapters 71.05 or 71.34 RCW (involuntary mental health commitment), detained under chapter 10.77 RCW (behavioral health treatment in criminal proceedings), or receiving/seeking voluntary in-patient behavioral health treatment

Preserves the ability to prosecute more serious assault charges (first, second, or fourth degree assault under RCW 9A.36.011, 9A.36.021, or 9A.36.041) regardless of behavioral health status
