Amends RCW 43.43.960 to allow fire service mobilization in preparation of an emergency or disaster, not just in response to one that has already exceeded local capabilities.

Enables deployment of statewide fire resources when an emergency is predicted to exceed local capabilities, allowing for proactive positioning before conditions worsen.

Passed unanimously in both chambers (House 97-0, Senate 48-0) and signed by Governor Ferguson on May 12, 2025, with an effective date of July 27, 2025.

Maintains existing restrictions preventing mobilization of all-risk resources to assist law enforcement with civil protests or First Amendment activities, while still permitting medical care and firefighting services.
