LEOFF Plan 2 members who retire instead of returning to work after an authorized unpaid leave of absence may now purchase up to two years of service credit toward their pension

Members who retire directly from leave must pay employer, member, and state contributions plus interest within five years of resuming service or prior to retirement

Contribution calculations for members who retire instead of returning to work are based on the member's salary at the time leave was granted, adjusted for any cost-of-living or pay increases given to similar job classes during the leave period

Amends RCW 41.26.520 governing pension service credit purchases for authorized leaves of absence under the Law Enforcement Officers' and Fire Fighters' (LEOFF) retirement system
