Administrative Office of the Courts must establish a gambling treatment diversion court pilot program in a superior court, beginning to accept participants by July 1, 2027

Program targets individuals who pled guilty or were convicted of crimes committed in furtherance of or as a result of problem gambling or disordered gambling

Treatment supervision lasts 1-3 years under a qualified mental health or substance use disorder professional, with participants required to agree to pay restitution and treatment costs to the extent of their financial resources

Successful completion allows conviction to be set aside and sentencing deferred; unsuccessful completion results in sentencing for the original offense

Program excludes violent crimes, crimes against children, domestic violence offenses, those with two or more prior violent convictions, and individuals previously assigned to gambling treatment programs
