School districts must permit students to wear items or objects of cultural significance with or attached to their graduation gowns at high school commencements and official graduation events

Items of cultural significance may include multiple items if traditionally worn or used together, but must be befitting of the ceremony and adhere to school district decorum requirements

Applies equally to traditional public school districts, charter schools, and state-tribal education compact schools

School districts retain authority to prohibit items likely to cause substantial disruption or material interference with graduation ceremonies
