Building officials must calculate occupancy loads for child care centers in multi-use existing buildings based only on the areas where child care services are provided, not the entire building

Amends fire safety licensing requirements (RCW 43.216.265) to apply the same occupancy calculation method when the state fire marshal inspects child care facilities in multi-use buildings

Specifically targets churches and similar buildings with existing educational rooms that could be converted to child care spaces without triggering whole-building occupancy requirements

Adds new section to state building code (chapter 19.27 RCW) applicable to all building code enforcement under that chapter
