County auditors must verify citizenship status of all registered voters by July 1, 2025, by checking Department of Licensing records for enhanced driver's licenses or ID cards

Registered voters who cannot be verified as citizens through licensing records must appear in person at the county auditor's office with proof of citizenship (U.S. passport, naturalization certificate, consular report of birth abroad, or certified birth certificate)

Voters who fail to provide citizenship proof will receive two notices; registration will be canceled 14 days before the 2025 general election if citizenship remains unverified

New voter registration applications must include documentary proof of U.S. citizenship, with acceptable documents including enhanced driver's licenses, passports, naturalization certificates, or certified birth certificates meeting specific requirements

Puerto Rico birth certificates issued before July 1, 2010, and Washington wallet-sized birth registrations are not accepted as proof of citizenship; the citizenship verification provisions expire January 1, 2027
