Employees may use accrued paid sick leave to prepare for or participate in any judicial or administrative immigration proceeding involving themselves or a family member, effective July 27, 2025

For absences exceeding three days related to immigration proceedings, employers may require verification through documentation from an immigrant advocate, attorney, clergy member, or other professional, or an employee's written statement

Verification documents must not disclose personally identifiable information about immigration status or underlying immigration protection

Transportation network company drivers (e.g., rideshare drivers) receive the same immigration proceeding leave rights under their earned paid sick time provisions
