WA HB2005

Criminalizes intentional damage, tampering, wire cutting, or theft of electric vehicle charging stations, with penalties ranging from gross misdemeanor (damage under $1,000) to class C felony ($1,000-$5,000) to class B felony (over $5,000)

Exempts electricity service provider workers who inadvertently cause damage or service interruption

Requires convicted offenders to pay restitution to charging station owners/operators, plus a mandatory $100 fine deposited into the multimodal transportation account (state property) or county road fund (county property)

Allows victims to sue perpetrators in superior court for actual damages, up to $5,000 in civil damages, and attorney's fees
