Exempts nonprofit organizations that provide free durable medical equipment to patients from paying state retail sales tax and use tax on items necessary for their operations and health care delivery

Qualifying organizations must be licensed nonprofits with 501(c) federal tax-exempt status that do not charge patients for the durable medical equipment provided

Tax exemption takes effect January 1, 2027 and expires January 1, 2037

Legislature intends to extend the expiration date if reviews show any increase in the amount of free durable medical equipment provided to Washingtonians after the exemption takes effect
