Three-dimensional printers sold in Washington after July 1, 2027 must be equipped with software that detects and blocks print requests for firearms or illegal firearm parts (unfinished frames/receivers, machine gun conversion parts)

Manufacturers must submit an attestation under penalty of perjury to the Attorney General certifying their printers have integrated compliant blocking features before selling in the state

First-time individual violations are a misdemeanor; repeat offenses and corporate violations are Class C felonies punishable by up to 5 years in prison and fines up to $15,000

The Attorney General must create and maintain a database of firearms blueprint files by August 1, 2026, updating it at least annually with newly discovered files from public internet forums

Printers manufactured exclusively for buyers with valid federal firearms manufacturing licenses under 18 U.S.C. Sec. 923 are exempt from these requirements
