Cash transaction totals ending in 1, 2, 6, or 7 cents must be rounded down to the nearest five cents; totals ending in 3, 4, 8, or 9 cents must be rounded up to the nearest five cents

Rounding applies only to purchases made with legal tender (coins and currency); credit cards, debit cards, electronic payments, checks, and money orders are exempt

Department of Revenue must adopt rules for transactions using a combination of cash and other payment methods

Adds new sections to both chapter 82.08 RCW (retail sales tax) and chapter 82.12 RCW (use tax)
