Registration requires disclosure of business contact information, types of data collected, number of Washington residents affected monthly, security measures, and whether geolocation or consumer health data is involved

"Brokered personal data" includes names, addresses, birth dates, biometric information, social security numbers, and other identifiable information categorized for sale or licensing

Consumer reporting agencies subject to the Fair Credit Reporting Act and financial institutions subject to Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act are exempt from the data broker definition

Registrations must indicate whether residents can opt out of data collection/use, and the Department of Licensing will publish all registration information publicly on its website
