Limited powers of attorney executed solely for transferring vehicle ownership to insurers after damage payment are exempt from standard notarization requirements under RCW 11.125.050

The Department of Licensing must accept limited powers of attorney executed under these provisions for vehicle ownership transfers

Insurers must report total loss vehicles to the department within 15 days of claim settlement, regardless of where the loss occurred, using electronic filing, marked title documents, or department forms
