Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction must convene a work group to identify African American studies curricula and instructional materials for grades 7-12

Work group must review existing reports, connect with faculty at historically black colleges and universities, and survey high school and college African American studies programs

Required work group membership includes representatives from the Washington State Commission on African American Affairs, educational opportunity gap committee, teacher and principal organizations, NAACP, National Urban League, and student and family representatives

Report with list of identified curricula and instructional methods due to the legislature by December 1, 2027

Provisions expire July 1, 2028
