Blount led the Interstate 5 and Port of Tacoma Road Interchange project, with phase one completed in 2020 and phase two budgeted to begin construction in 2024

Blount served as chair of the Pierce County Transportation Coordinating Committee from 2011 to 2022 and held leadership roles on multiple regional transportation committees

The naming request is supported by the City of Fife, Puyallup Tribe of Indians, Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber of Commerce, Port of Tacoma, Pierce County, and Regional Access Mobility Partnership partners
