Eygi was a University of Washington psychology graduate and human rights activist who was serving as a peaceful observer monitoring displacement of Palestinians when she was killed

Memorial also references Rachel Corrie, another Washington resident killed by Israeli military forces in Gaza in 2003, whose family never achieved accountability through U.S. diplomatic channels or Israeli courts

Copies of the memorial to be transmitted to President Trump, the Secretary of State, Department of State, Department of Justice, and both chambers of Congress

Eygi's activism included organizing a 2016 student walkout in Seattle, participating in Dakota Access Pipeline protests, and raising over $47,000 for medical aid for children in Gaza
