Wapato is the first high school in Washington State to enable students to earn the Washington State Seal of Biliteracy in an Indigenous language

Program serves students in grades 4-12, with grades 6-12 able to enroll in Ichishkiin courses and earn college credit through Heritage University after three continuous years of study

Wapato's Johnson-O'Malley program was named Exemplary Program of the Year for Region 6 in 2025 by the National Johnson-O'Malley Association

Recognizes Túulhɨnch (Roger Jacob), named Region 6 Teacher of the Year, along with students, educators, families, and Yakama Nation community members for their dedication to the program
