Expands eligibility for law enforcement and prosecutor office positions from "U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or DACA recipients" to any person "legally authorized to work in the United States under federal law"

Applies to general and limited authority Washington law enforcement agencies, civil service positions for police and fire departments, sheriff's offices, prosecuting attorneys and their deputies, fish and wildlife officers, and corrections officers

Requires agencies employing non-citizens to maintain written firearms policies authorizing possession and carry of firearms by peace officers and corrections officers in compliance with federal ATF regulations

Mandates background checks verify applicants are legally authorized to work in the U.S. under federal law as a condition for peace officer or corrections officer certification

Explicitly states the bill shall not override federal work authorization requirements under 8 CFR 274a.2
