Secretary of state must notify the chair and ranking member of appropriate legislative committees within 5 days of any challenge to the sufficiency of signatures for any initiative

Amends RCW 29A.72.240, which governs the existing process for citizens to challenge the secretary of state's determination on whether initiative or referendum petitions have sufficient signatures

Retains existing law allowing citizens to file challenges in Thurston County Superior Court within 5 days of the secretary of state's signature determination
