Expands employment eligibility for law enforcement officers, corrections officers, firefighters, prosecutors, and fish and wildlife officers from U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, and DACA recipients to any person legally authorized to work in the United States under federal law

Amends multiple RCW chapters (10.93, 41.08, 41.12, 41.14, 36.27, 43.101, 77.15) to apply the broadened eligibility standard across civil service positions in fire departments, police departments, sheriff's offices, and prosecuting attorneys' offices

Requires all covered positions to maintain legal work authorization under federal law, with provisions explicitly stating the changes cannot override federal work authorization requirements in 8 CFR 274a.2

Applies retroactively to individuals employed on and after the effective date of the act

Declared an emergency measure, taking effect immediately upon passage
