Nongrandfathered health plans issued or renewed on or after January 1, 2026 cannot impose cost-sharing for in-network prenatal services (office visits, lab work, ultrasounds, screening tests, prenatal vitamins) or postnatal services (office visits, lactation specialists, cesarean follow-up, counseling/therapy)

Beginning January 1, 2027, health plans cannot impose cost-sharing for prescription drugs treating pregnancy-related conditions or complications during prenatal and postnatal periods

Postnatal coverage without cost-sharing extends 12 weeks after delivery for pregnancy-related services, and up to one year for pregnancy complication-related services

Health savings account (HSA)-compatible plans may maintain minimum cost-sharing necessary to preserve enrollees' tax-exempt contribution eligibility under IRS regulations

Applies the new requirements to state employee health plans under RCW 41.05 and authorizes the Office of the Insurance Commissioner to adopt implementing rules
