Financial education instruction becomes a high school graduation requirement beginning with the class of 2033 or earlier if recommended by the State Board of Education

School districts must provide financial education instruction consistent with state learning standards starting in the 2029-30 school year

School districts must submit reports by December 15, 2025 detailing current financial education offerings and implementation needs; the State Board of Education must submit recommendations to the legislature by December 31, 2026

Grade 12 students who previously resided outside Washington may receive individual waivers from their principal for the financial education requirement

Requirements apply equally to traditional public schools, charter schools, and state-tribal education compact schools
