Student health centers at Washington public colleges and universities must offer access to medication abortion by the 2026-27 academic year, either on-site, via telehealth, or through a public program connecting patients to reproductive health services.

Public institutions without student health centers must provide referrals to at least two qualified health care organizations and one telehealth organization, plus offer private campus space and technical support for telehealth appointments.

All public higher education institutions must maintain websites with reproductive health information, including scheduling instructions, links to academic accommodation resources, and direct links to the Department of Health's abortion information page.

The legislature cites approximately 196,000 pregnancy-capable students at Washington public institutions, with current barriers including travel up to 78 miles (4+ hours by transit) and 10-day average wait times for appointments.
