Veterans with a 70% or higher disability rating from the U.S. armed forces or VA who use a service animal now qualify for special parking privileges under Washington state law

Qualifying veterans can receive up to two parking placards, special license plates, or a combination of placards and plates at no charge

Veterans qualifying under this provision must renew parking privileges every five years by providing proof they meet the disability rating and service animal criteria

The definition of "veteran" in RCW 41.04.007 is amended to include eligibility for these parking privileges under RCW 46.19.010
