Employers must bargain with unions over decisions to adopt or modify artificial intelligence technology when those changes affect employees' wages or performance evaluations

Amends RCW 41.56 (public employees collective bargaining) and RCW 41.80 (state employee collective bargaining) to create an exception to management's traditional right to unilaterally decide technology use

Applies to institutions of higher education employees and state agency employees covered under collective bargaining agreements

Existing contracts remain unaffected until they expire, are renewed, or are reopened
