The Evergreen State College is abolished effective July 1, 2026, with all powers, duties, land, buildings, and property transferred to the University of Washington to create a new health sciences campus

The new campus mission focuses on baccalaureate and graduate degrees supporting healthcare workforce needs, with required programs in nursing, dental, and behavioral health fields

A nine-member advisory committee from healthcare, business, and community sectors will guide the campus, and a formal review must identify closure dates by July 1, 2028 for programs not aligned with the health sciences mission

The UW Board of Regents must establish credit equivalencies for Evergreen students by July 1, 2026 and submit a 10-year financial sustainability plan to the legislature by July 1, 2028

A coordinating and planning council will oversee long-range planning, including representatives from UW leadership, South Puget Sound Community College, students, and community leaders appointed by UW regents and the mayor of Olympia
