Vehicles registered under RCW 46.17.350(1)(j) or (n), or vehicles registered under RCW 46.17.355 weighing 12,000 pounds or less gross vehicle weight, would receive only one license plate instead of two

Owners receiving a single plate under this provision must still pay all applicable fees as if the vehicle had been issued two license plates

Single plates must be attached to the rear of the vehicle and kept clean, uncovered, and plainly visible at all times

The changes apply to vehicle registrations due on or after January 1, 2026

Amends RCW 46.16A.200 (license plate design and display requirements) and RCW 46.17.200 (license plate fees)
