School districts with 2,000+ students must elect board directors from designated geographic director districts by January 1, 2027, rather than at-large elections

Districts with more than 5,000 students must elect at least 4 board members from designated director districts; districts with 2,000-5,000 students must elect at least 3

School districts with fewer than 2,000 students are exempt from the designated director district requirements

If insufficient qualified or willing candidates exist within a designated director district, the board may appoint a resident of that district or, if none available, appoint an at-large qualified resident until the next regular election

Amends RCW 28A.343.300 to incorporate these new director district election requirements alongside existing school board governance rules
