Students with disabilities who have a required transition plan under their Individualized Education Program (IEP) may elect to use that transition plan to fulfill the High School and Beyond Plan requirements

When a student chooses to maintain both plans, the IEP transition plan must be aligned with the High School and Beyond Plan rather than the previous requirement that applied to all students with transition plans

Amends RCW 28A.230.212 (High School and Beyond Plan requirements) and RCW 28A.155.220 (special education transition services) to provide this flexibility

Reduces duplicative planning requirements for students with disabilities while preserving the option to complete both plans if desired
