Public high schools must observe "National Voter Registration Day" on the third Tuesday of September each year, with voter registration events held in history or social studies classes for seniors and other grades when possible

County auditors may help coordinate the future voter program and participate in school registration events, while the Superintendent of Public Instruction must annually distribute updated youth voter registration materials to schools

The state establishes a goal of achieving at least 50,000 new voter registrations for high school students annually, with required annual progress reports to the governor and legislature

"Temperance and Good Citizenship Day" on January 16th is retained but refocused as a secondary opportunity for students who missed National Voter Registration Day earlier in the school year
