Health carriers must cover all FDA-approved HIV antiviral drugs without prior authorization, step therapy, or other utilization management protocols for plans issued or renewed on or after January 1, 2027

When FDA-approved therapeutic equivalents exist for an HIV prevention drug, health plans only need to cover at least one equivalent version without utilization management restrictions, not all versions

Requirements apply to health plans offered under the Public Employees' Benefits Board (PEBB) and School Employees' Benefits Board (SEBB) programs through amendments to RCW 41.05.017
