School districts and educational service districts may sell surplus technology hardware (laptops, tablets, electronic devices) to public school students at depreciated cost or grant them at no cost

Districts should prioritize students with the greatest need, considering factors such as eligibility for free or reduced-price meals or family income at or below 185% of the federal poverty level

"Public school students" includes recent graduates and anyone enrolled in a public school within the 12 months preceding the sale or grant

Sales or grants must be documented in an agreement between the parties indicating the depreciated cost, if any

Amends RCW 28A.335.180 governing disposal of surplus educational property
