Cash transaction totals ending in 1, 2, 6, or 7 cents must be rounded down to the nearest five cents; totals ending in 3, 4, 8, or 9 cents must be rounded up to the nearest five cents

Rounding applies only to purchases made with physical currency (coins and bills), not to credit cards, debit cards, electronic payments, checks, or money orders

The Department of Revenue must adopt rules for transactions paid with a combination of cash and other payment methods

Adds new sections to both chapter 82.08 RCW (retail sales tax) and chapter 82.12 RCW (use tax)
