Requires the State Building Code Council to adopt the full International Wildland Urban Interface Code by rule by November 1, 2029, following completion of statewide wildfire hazard and base-level wildfire risk maps for each county

Mandates collaboration between the Building Code Council, Department of Natural Resources, regional fire defense boards, local governments, building officials, and urban forestry specialists to create regionally appropriate building codes based on current wildfire science

Requires counties, cities, and towns issuing building permits for parcels in high hazard and very high hazard areas to apply the wildland urban interface code

Allows local governments to adopt local amendments to the code with approval from the local fire marshal, though amendments affecting residential buildings require Building Code Council approval

Requires the Department of Natural Resources to coordinate with regional fire defense boards to review proposed statewide wildfire hazard maps before final approval and make publicly available the criteria used in wildfire hazard and risk assessments
