Surviving spouses, domestic partners, and dependent children of law enforcement officers and firefighters killed in the line of duty receive reimbursement for Washington State Health Care Authority premium payments and Medicare Part A and B premiums

Reimbursement covers premiums paid from the date of the member's death through the determination that the death was in the course of employment, including employer-provided insurance, COBRA, and Medicare

Recipients entitled to Medicare must enroll and maintain enrollment in both Medicare Part A and Part B to remain eligible for reimbursement

Survivors not eligible for the standard reimbursement may receive reimbursement for other medical insurance premiums, capped at the COBRA premium amount

Provisions apply retroactively to any premium payments made after June 10, 2010
