Less restrictive alternative placements for sexually violent predators must be in locations where the ratio of adults to children within a 500-foot radius exceeds 3-to-1, as verified by the Department of Social and Health Services

The department must investigate and verify all proposed housing locations meet this adult-to-child ratio requirement before courts can approve conditional release

Courts must require the 3-to-1 ratio as a mandatory condition for any residence, in addition to existing 500-foot distance restrictions from schools and child care facilities
