Joe Mentor (1933-2003) was a Kitsap County resident who served two terms as Washington State Representative from 1968 to 1972

Mentor was a real estate developer and builder in Kitsap County for 50 years, developing the nationally-recognized Eldorado Hills housing development on Highway 16

Mentor owned and operated Kitsap Bremerton Charleston Transit (now Kitsap Transit) and served on numerous local boards including Kitsap County Bank Board of Directors and Olympic College Board of Trustees

Memorial directs copies be transmitted to the Washington State Transportation Commission and Department of Transportation to commence naming proceedings
